VENTILATOR
DESCRIPTION
A ventilator, also known as a mechanical ventilator or breathing machine, is a medical device that helps support or replace the natural breathing process of a patient who is unable to breathe adequately on their own. Ventilators are commonly used in intensive care units (ICUs) and during surgeries to assist patients in breathing.
The primary function of a ventilator is to deliver a controlled mixture of air and oxygen to the patient’s lungs and remove carbon dioxide from the body. It does this by using a system of tubes, valves, and a ventilator machine.
